Oh Canada: Improving Gang, its improving!!!!

The Blessing: Delivered eloquently by Noel Sterne – thanks Noel.
Special Motion:

A motion to approve the 2017-18 board of directors was put forth by Jerry Wink. It was seconded by Nicole McCahon.  All were in favor.  Love to list them all for you here but I gotta split!!!!

The Loonie Bin:

Mark Goode had a loonie in honor of Son Mitchell who made the Barrie junior A lacrosse team – nice job Mitch!!!!

Mike Bunn was California Dreamin’ for the last couple of weeks on vay-cay down around L.A. Stick a big furry hat on him and he bears a striking resemblance to John Phillips!!!!

Noel Sterne has just received his master’s degree in theology – now that’s groovy!!!!

John Morton has a brand-new baby great grandson – sounds like the next generation of Kiwanis with all these new grandbabies arriving!!!

Fred Larsen’s son Mark (a.k.a. Lars Classington) had a cameo appearance in the full-length feature film “Stockholm” – cool stuff Fred!!!!

Korine Keyzer is happy about the $1,500.00 smackaroos brought in last Tuesday night at the Eastside Mario’s KCSV fundraiser. That amount was doubled by a matching donation from Lafarge – that’s really outa sight Korine!!!
Today’s Meeting:

Today was all about the big Kiwanis Spring Hoedown being held Saturday June 10th at Burl’s Creek.  Korine, Steph and all those other cowpokes on the committee have put a pile of work into getting this thing together.  Beer, boots and all the country music – sounds like how I grew up!!!  I know there some work to do and some tickets to be sold but this is shaping up to be one hell of a barnburner (not literally).  My biggest dilemma is which belt buckle to wear!!!  Let’s all get ready for some Flatt and Scruggs, Hank Williams (Senior) and some Minnie Pearl.  Oh, and just a reminder, no outhouse tipping please!!!
Next Week:

Steph’s giving us all the week off next week. No meeting and no roundtable because it’s the May 24th long weekend.  We’re back at Theo’s on Monday May 29th.  That’s all for now, have a great week everyone!!!
Thought for the Day
